When it comes down to describing your b-school life experience, everyone gets excited and pumped up. So, here’s a quick glimpse at life at IIM Indore – the people here, the campus, the faculty and most importantly, what makes IIM Indore among the most beautiful campuses of the country.
Let us all for a second entertain this thought that a college campus can be perfectly defined by the term organism. According to Google, an organism can be defined as a system or organisation consisting of interdependent parts, compared to a living being, now compare this to the scenic chaos at your colleges, don’t you all see the campus as reflection of your emotions, for instance, the placement season is on, you have resounding silence in the corridors, cometh the hour of college festival a magnetic pulse of energy, the hour of submission and worried frenzy, the place almost is an absorption tank of the collective Diaspora it dwells with, taking in the good and bad, and teaching lessons of survival and abundance in a breath.
I have often wondered what makes an institute different. Why is it that the colleges offering similar courses have enormously different cultures? How did that culture come about? It was only when I came to IIM Raipur that I realized that the man you are, depends on the child you were. This is true for anything and anyone that evolves over time. The culture of any institute depends on the circumstances during the initial years of its establishment.
The uniqueness of my campus is the number of institutes in the campus. Currently, there are three institutes in the campus, they are:
It’s not a secret that placements still remain as the most important parameter to juxtapose the performances of 2 or more b-schools. However, the quality of performance of a b-school’s participants in a multitude of well-renowned corporate as well as institute-organised case study competitions is also a critical parameter used by the recruiters and MBA aspirants alike for the evaluation of that particular b-school.

It all started when reliance came to our college SCMHRD’s campus for the grand launch of Reliance TUP. I had a vague idea about the competition before, but the actual scale and the grandeur of the event became eminent during the campus orientation. The Reliance aspire session was led by the Reliance team, consisting of eminent people from different verticals. Their enthusiasm was infectious and soon we found ourselves getting excited about the campus finale too. We were explained about the format of the competition where 1 campus winner would be chosen from each of the top 25 business schools and then they would battle it out amongst themselves to emerge as the ultimate winner. Winning the finals seemed like a tall order for us so we started focusing on the immediate next step, which was the campus finals.
