IIM Ahmedabad commenced their Final Placement Process on February 13th, 2017 for the class of 2017. IIM A follows a cluster cohort placement process wherein companies offering similar profiles are grouped into cohorts, and several cohorts are invited to the campus in a particular cluster. XIMB with its Entrepreneurship Cell, X-Seed organised “Xavion 2017”, one of the biggest Annual Global Entrepreneurship Summits conducted by BSchools. This time the theme of this Global Entrepreneurship Summit was “Under-30: Bridge the Gap” with a special focus on entrepreneurship in the field of Media, Politics, and Sports. The 3-day event started with a panel discussion on “Social Entrepreneurship with esteemed speakers, was followed various events such as a workshop on “How to profitably run a start-up?”, also a conclave on Women Entrepreneurship with eminent speakers such as Mrs Garima Sahai, CEO Svadha, previously worked with World Bank, Mrs.Nandita Mathur, Deputy Editor of Livemint, and with other renowned women entrepreneurs. The final day of Xavion’17 was concluded with a Global Business Conclave was based on the theme “Entrepreneurship and Social Norms” with some of the biggest veterans of business world like Mr Ajey Mehta, Country Head HMD Global, CEO, Nokia India, Ms. AinaraKaur, Ex-CMO, Myntra, Mr. UdippanBagchi, Vice President and Global Head of Insurance, NTT Japan and Mr. Srinivashan Iyer, Founder, HR Club and CEO M-power Business.
A company or an organisation is only as good as the employees that work in it. And you as HR Managers or to be HR Managers, will be responsible for bringing the best out of your employees. If a laptop breaks, you can just call for another one, but when an employee leaves, albeit replaceable to a certain extent, the cost is higher. Processes, from recruitment to employee engagement and appraisal is in your hands. Since being in HR involves dealing with people every time, the most important skill that you need to garner is the ‘people skill’. Although this list of books is in no way comprehensive, it offers a way to get you started. And why learn from your mistakes when you can learn from research and mistakes made by others?
IIM Trichy has concluded the summer placement process for the 2016-18 batch of PGP (Post Graduate Program in Management) students with a 56% increase in the highest domestic stipend offered (compared to the previous year). The average stipend offered for the internship period was Rs. 53,030 and the highest domestic offer was Rs. 2.50 lakhs.

As it is late January and most of the candidates shall be facing the next hurdle of GD, WAT and PI, in this article I will like to share my experience as I had prepared for this phase.
The Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur has completed its Summer Placement process for the Post Graduate Programme (class of 2018). Having recently moved to its new, sprawling 300-acre campus at Balicha, the institute has managed to successfully place its largest batch yet. Of the 181 students in the batch, 157 sought placements through the Institute while 8 students opted for the summer entrepreneurship programme offered by IIMU.
