For normal people August 13, 14 and 15 would have been a long weekend, where they would take a break from the monotony of their regular lives. But normal takes a backseat here at IIM Trichy, where there is always a flurry of activity going on. Literally, always. The IIM-T life never stops- there is always something fun happening.

Axis bank was my fourth shortlist, but my second interview. The GD was based on payment banks and was a cordial one. It was co-ordinated well. Moreover, you could see pairs of keen watchful eyes studying even your body movements. It was as though their gaze was piercing through the skin. I followed the basic norms of GD. Jotting down points, asking question for the group to take lead on, coherent answers backed by relevant examples. Not surprisingly, I was called in for the next round–interview.
The number of cashless transactions in our country is really poor. It is 6 transactions per person in a year, also considering the fact that hardly 1.1 million out of 11 million retailers have infrastructure for card payments. However the number of people using smartphones is predicted to reach 500 million in next five years hence RBI has set its goal to tap into this segment and assist in making India a cashless economy.
In this world of business administration, it has always been a notion that only Engineers are the ones who can get into the top B-schools of the country cracking the coveted CAT/XATs. But today, we have many non-engineers breaking this stereotype thought and making into the top b-schools of the country and abroad. Today, I write about one of my very own batch-mate, Medha Chaturvedi, the girl who broke the stereotypes and had an unconventional career shift from a lawyer to the field of MBA in Human Resource Management.
I got introduced to the Premier League because of friends. However, the reason I became a fan was because I could watch Premier League matches live on my TV. I was exposed to a world of entertainment and scintillating display of skill. The pre-match and post-match analysis was of high quality. The weekly shows on Football were educating and gave great insight into how the sport was run. The only way you develop an interest and convert it to a passion is if the content is available. When I look back I became a cricket fan as a child too because I could watch the Indian team travel across the world on TV. Access to experiencing the content was never a problem.
