The 115- participant strong batch picked up social internship roles in sectors such as CSR, NGOs, Social Enterprises, Academic Institutions and Social Activists. For the first time, the provision of international internships was offered to the candidates through AIESEC.

Being able to borrow too much allowed many of us to make bad decisions - decisions that led to painful consequences. While debt can help us build assets and achieve dreams, it is also true that debt can lead into a maze that is extremely difficult to unravel. Sudipto Dasgupta is confused. He borrowed money from the bank for a home loan and also some more money as a personal loan to buy a home theatre system to enjoy the music that he loves. His financial advisor tells him that while a home loan is "good debt", acquiring a home theatre system worth Rs 1 lac is bad debt.
About the same time last year, I was writing an Ode to the batch of 2015, thinking how life at campus would be so incomplete without our dear seniors. The clock has turned-I am on the other side of the table now. I am a part of the graduating class of 2016 of IIM Lucknow. This morning, as I was on my way to college for the convocation, the thought that was stuck in my head was-I’m coming here as a student one last time. As I neared the turn which takes us to college, the huge IIM sign reminded me of the time when I had first arrived for my registration with my parents. I distinctly remember the myriad of feelings that had thrived in me then-trepidation, skepticism, excitement and determination. As I looked at the same sign today, the feelings were so similar and yet so different. I still felt trepidation, skepticism, excitement at what the future holds for me, but the overwhelming feeling is that of impending nostalgia.
I know many marketers who complain that marketing is always treated as a second-class part of the business. And while as a marketer I know the importance of providing consistently effective marketing, I also know that if other parts of the business are not effective, then you cannot fix it with any level of marketing.
Few things can beat the excitement of a new job. It's the first taste of financial independence in adult life. It is the beginning of dreams being fulfilled and also the beginning of managing your own money.
