Confessions Of an Engineer - Summer Internship at Ministry of Water Resources
My story isn’t one with exotic locales or where I’m going to be rolling in money-or a job-at the end of my internship.

A summer internship is never short of surprises – good and bad. A mail is sent a month prior to the commencement of SIP with a project title and brief – and the madness begins (though by now we should have been used to it in a B-school). I frantically consulted a few professors about scope and domain as I had no clue about what to do - little did I realise that the people in my SIP organization were in the same boat; they just goad us to work hard to give them the ‘earth-shaking idea’. Oh yeah, that’s the mistake I might have made by opting to do an MBA – I am THE panacea for all organization’s problems and no one understands that I am a fellow human being in the learning curve (Freshers beware! the curve is very steep and you can compete with your experienced classmates only a couple of years into your permanent job).
I feel so sad seeing my intern saga story vanish as soon as I clicked on save button to post my story on insideIIM. InsideIIM you owe me for this. Well so here am I, re-narrating my saga. Ofcourse it will not be as good as the last post I wrote since I had poured all my heart out in the last one.
As the deadline for Summer Saga 2015 draws closer, it is time for us to unveil the judges for the competition. We are in the third year of our competition and we continue to have a stellar panel of judges to help us!
Victoria Secret’s is facing the wrath of its customers because of its ‘’Perfect Body’ campaign. (Refer to my earlier post on this issue). Today’s customer will patronise brands which they can trust & relate too.
I landed a Summer internship pre-placement offer with the ABG group as part of winning the Aditya Birla Scholarship. I kept wondering where within the vast expanse of this group would I finally do my internship. As it turned out, I was assigned to Aditya Birla Finance in Mumbai which was perfect for me cause Finance and Mumbai was everything I was hoping for.
As I settle down for some spicy fries and pepper blasted chicken with my laptop before me, it dawns on me that two months of wonderful people, places, challenges and experiences has almost come to an end– my time with Aditya Birla Group has been so much more than what I expected. It wasn’t just two months of saying “yes sir” or doing menial/unimportant work – it involved an impactful and challenging project, and good memories drawn from experiences well beyond office hours.
