Hina Afifa belongs to the 16th batch of the management graduates from the Harihar campus of KIAMS. Hina has recently been placed with HDFC Asset Management and she is rightly proud sharing this accomplishment with the world: “This is the most memorable moment of my life at KIAMS, perhaps as amazing as the day I entered KIAMS, which was the first time I was away from my home.”
IndiGo, the budget airline, has metamorphosed into the fastest growing and largest airline in India with a market share of 38.9%. (May 2015). What has catapulted this airlines to such an exalted position especially when airlines are going bankrupt or flying into losses?
It’s been over a year now since I had last stepped into the hallowed portal of Corporate. Leaving behind the legacy of NSN, JSPL was a different ball game altogether. They looked at me differently now. There were heavy expectations on my shoulders. But I was determined to emerge through the gauntlet as the last ‘woman’ standing.
My story with Aditya Birla Group (ABG) started much before my internship through the amazing ABG STRATOS 2014 competition for top b-schools. STRATOS is a simulation game competition which tests your decision-making skills. As exciting as the game was, even cooler were the prizes for the campus winners. My team was the campus winner for IIM Ahmedabad and each of us got a swanky iPad Air 2.
With barely a month away from Placement season, Vijay Ahir is exactly where he wants to be… top of his PGP class of 2015 at AIIM! A Civil Engineer by education, Vijay joined Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management after 7 years with Larsen and Toubro. Starting out as a Trainee Engineer in the Technology Services Division of L&T, Vijay ended up handling a number engineering services provided to ‘Fortune 500’ clients of L&T in the US; projects with a CAPEX of 45 million USD to 75 million USD. For 4 years he did this, and life would’ve been pretty much about shuttling between India and California – had it not been for L&T’s in-house training establishment. Vijay was detailed for a 1-year Executive education programme in Finance at IIM, Kozhikode. Their programme involved faculties teaching the participant over video conferencing and visit to IIM-Kozhikode campus for on campus study.. Here for the first time, Ahir was exposed to Finance.
The way we interact with our smart devices will change in coming months. It will migrate from ‘touch’ to ‘voice activation’. This is not the 1st time this strategy is being introduced.
