I have been a loyal TOI reader since I was about ten. Since then, my daily routine has revolved around reading the newspaper. I was also, in my school days, a TOI Young Journalist for two years and fleetingly considered a career in journalism. If you read a paper for a decade and a half as I have (and for several decades as have my parents) you grow addicted to it… you begin to take it seriously. The newspaper business is all about loyalty. People will tell you their breakfast/ tea didn’t go down that well if for whatever reason, they could not grab hold of their favourite newspaper (which was, by the way, a common occurrence during all my childhood vacations with my mother). Anyhow, back to me. What I did, when I did not become a journalist, was to become an engineer and an MBA. What that gave me in turn, was an introduction to several simple yet powerful mathematical tools… some of which I will showcase here today…

For every management aspirant, their Alma mater always holds a special place for them, in their hearts. However for an institute to stand-out against its competitors, it must offer more than just an emotional tug.
1. No matter what you do in office time, when the deadline arrives, it’s only you, who is accountable, Neither your Tea/Coffee/Cigarette/Maggie break-mates Nor your superiors or juniors (which in case of Internship is none)
Sitting in front of my notebook, I am confounded – for I have absolutely no idea how to begin! A random swarm of alphabets swirls in my mind which tries desperately to organize them into meaningful words – such are the experiences - variegated as diversely as the terrain of the European continent! Indeed, it was once in a lifetime opportunity in my student life as I chose to experience 1 of my 6 trimesters at EM Strasbourg Business School in Strasbourg, France. A hectic schedule is what typifies any B School life. It wasn’t too different here either, but with the liberties given in terms of selection of courses and designing your own class schedule combined with a unique experience of interacting with 140 exchange students from around 40 nationalities made it a remarkable journey indeed.
