They say hindsight is 20/20. With the completion of a year at IIM Calcutta, and a lot of reminiscing over the year with batchmates and friends from other campuses, here is a list of things we wish we knew when we joined the brand:
Finance is a pretty broad field of study - ranging from financial accounting and reporting to the study of various financial markets, stock markets, valuations, trading etc. And so is Economics - with the 2 major sub-topics being Macro- and Micro-Economics. But both of them are essential for anyone serious about pursuing a career in the lucrative Investment Banking industry.
One of the reasons why I joined IIM Ranchi, was the opportunity to study at one of the excellent institutes that partner with IIM Ranchi for exchange programs. I had my heart set on Purdue University, USA. After spending a year in a batch of about 170 students at IIM Ranchi, a term at Purdue University, which hosts over 8000 students from over 100 nationalities, was the kind of exposure every MBA aspirant dreams of.
TISS NET is the common entrance test for admission to the range of courses offered by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Before you start your preparation, here are a few things which you need to know.
Rahul Jain joined Marico in 2010. In spite of coming from NITIE, Mumbai, a school known for producing some of the finest Supply Chain professionals, Rahul has made a remarkable career in FMCG Marketing. He started off as a Management Trainee and over the course of the next few years, did various stints across India. Today, 7 years later, he is the Senior Brand Manager for South East Asia working in Vietnam.
