A new generation of excited B-Schoolers will be graduating this year. With optimism and high hopes in their hearts, as these graduates join the corporate world there are few things that b-school didn't teach you. They matter far more than your joining CTC and your position in the company.
By April, most of the Management colleges declare their converts list. With this, many aspirants are buoyed with joy as they get the college of their choice, while many others are left to choose between two almost equally good colleges. While rankings consider many different parameters to judge a b-school, comparing placements is the single most important factor for aspirants.
Around 2 years back, on a weekday at 12 PM I would often look up from my computer and just mindlessly stare at things around me and wonder what I was doing. I would be covered in sweat sitting in an AC room. It seemed like I was going no where. These days at 7 PM, I look around in office and I don't want to go home. Every weekday is a day of delightful challenges. I am glad I didn't quit.
One of the most powerful words in the English language is ‘possibility’. Just thinking of this word itself can give rise to hope and create options out of literally nothing. Considering that there is never a situation in life when everything is lost and nothing is possible, exploring possibilities can give rise to a powerful array of options at any point in time.
As I stepped out of the Mewar Express in Udaipur, an unfamiliar yet expected sight greeted me on 2nd January of this year. Scores of classmates were buzzing across the length of the platform trying to find the ones who had just deboarded and directing them towards the waiting bus outside the station.

I am an MBA student. I have committed 2 years of my life to a program that is more demanding that any of the relationships I have had. The irony of the fact is that when I graduated as an engineer I never thought I would need this. But as the rope that I was thrown at my office started to fall short, as my hikes got lesser and as the next promotion looked less likely I came across the glass door. It opened only for those with who had the password. And to know the password you needed to invest into a two-year program. So I did.
