My Induction Story- An Expedition, IIM Bodh Gaya

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable - Helen Keller Long before I could pack my bags, wait for the final call from an IIM, and feel the trepidation, a nationwide lockdown happened. It took a while getting used to this at first, but the 'online MBA' had made its mark and was here to stay. It has been a rollercoaster ride since then, with all the highs and lows. Of course, parents have to bear my tantrums all the time, and this could be considered as one of the perils of doing “off-campus MBA”. Despite all of these, I try to make it a point to have dinner with my family and take a day off on weekends. Sometimes that even means staying up late or waking up early to finish assignments.

2020 has been a tough year, but it has once again proven to us the true extent of human adaptability. Despite the world having to isolate themselves, work has continued to happen. While many companies this year decided to cancel or defer internships promised to students, many others made good of their promise. Mahindra recognized the importance of internships for MBA students, and therefore quickly adapted their set processes to accommodate their interns, albeit virtually. Since most interns had already received their projects before the lockdown was imposed, these projects had to be modified based on limitations arising from a work-from-home setup.

My summer internship, similar to most of my peers from the batch of 2021, seemed like a once in a century experience. Interning amidst the pandemic and the subsequent lockdown has been a revelation in its own right.
