With their tremendous progress in the copper, insurance, telecommunications, retail, and software services it has created value and added purpose at both the business and customer levels. They actively contribute to the social and economic development of the communities through tie-ups with various organizations. Standing by the line “Always big in your life” Aditya Birla Group’s products have made a definitive statement by making their presence felt everywhere around us. From road-rail journeys, Vodafone-Idea Teleservices, Pantaloons, Allen Solly fashions it is hard to miss their involvement in improving the standards of living. For me, Aditya Birla Group came big in style with Aditya Birla Fashion Retail Limited, which hosts India's largest fashion network with 2,500 exclusive brand outlets, 4,900+ multi-brand outlets and 4000+ department stores across the country. With my changing preferences and spending patterns, their apparel stores have never been constrained with the demanded product’s availability and quality. Their wide variety of clothing and even easily accessible stores have made them the new mantra in the fashion sector. They offer something new to the customers frequently either with exciting offers, discounts and global products giving an edge over the competition. It is now leading as a fashion powerhouse with all the leading brands under one roof and has become India’s largest fashion and lifestyle company in both men’s and women’s’ wear. Their panache in this sector has touched millions and will continue to do so.

Aditya Birla, has unknowingly, played a crucial role in my life. It has made its presence felt in every aspect of my daily routine. Starting right from clothing, Aditya Birla’s clothing division (Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail) has some of the most popular brands like Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Forever 21 and Pantaloons to name a few. Hindalco Limited, the metals flagship company of ABG, supplies aluminum that is used to make the tempered class for the smartphones that we use. Moreover, the aluminum manufactured by Novelis Inc. is used as a raw material for making cans of our all-time favorite soft drinks. Ultratech Cement has contributed its product into the construction of the Bandra Worli sea link which has made travel to and fro South Mumbai convenient. Aditya Birla has also ensured safety of road travel by supplying carbon black, a product of Birla Carbon, that has nano particles that make tyres safer and stronger. Aditya Birla Capital provides one stop financial solutions ranging from housing loans, insurance to wealth management. Last but not the least, Aditya Birla Group plays an important role in connecting me to my dear ones and in enabling never ending conversations by providing uninterrupted telecommunication services in the form of Vodafone Idea Limited. They have made sure that people stay connected despite having miles of physical distance. These brands and companies have been playing their role ever since they have come into existence. Covering almost every small aspect in my daily routine, Aditya Birla Group is indeed a “Big” part of my life.

Impact of ABG on my life - V Nandhini, NMIMS Mumbai

Aditya Birla Group, an Indian multinational conglomerate with revenue of USD 44.3 billion and seven decades of responsible business practices, has grown into the global powerhouse of wide range of sectors – metals, textiles, carbon black, telecom, cement and fashion. ABG has without doubt touched upon many lives including mine. ABG’s Hindalco is the world's largest aluminium rolling and producing company and major supplier of bus bars and conductor for state and national utilities to most of the electrical power projects. ABG has adopted the strategy of market cannibalism in the Fashion sector where brands like Van Heusen, Peter England, Allen Solly, Louise Phillippe coexist and target the right audience for its market ranging from mainstream class to luxury clothing. Conveniently located in my neighborhood is the more supermarket, the shopping destination of choice for families almost everywhere, offering an irresistible combination of quality and value. What strikes me as a consumer is how ABG has remained the master of extensive mergers and acquisitions to diversify into new areas and divest businesses, like the biggest the Vodafone-Idea merger. ABG’s BITS Dubai has been consistently providing highest quality of technical education to students from all over the world. As an ardent user of ABG products, I eagerly wait for ABG to venture into unexplored areas in future, hoping for it to capture the market, delivering superior shareholder value, leaving no stone unturned in the business in addition to actively contributing to social and economical development in a sustainable way through its CSR initiatives. #NMIMSMumbai #ABGLPWooMe

Challenges in my life - V Nandhini, NMIMS Mumbai

Unlike IT industry, the core industry does not carry equal proportionate of male and female ratio. Subsequently I had to strive hard to mark my presence in my job as Process Engineer in TechnipFMC, Chennai having graduated in Chemical Engineering from SSN College of Engineering. Sheer hard-work and perseverance paved way for my success in the organization where I was given additional responsibilities and expected to perform due to my capabilities. Later, I started developing passion to become a HR Manager having interacted with HR department and understanding the nature of their job. Having gained 2 years of core work experience, I was in a dilemma to either continue as a Process Engineer or to quit my job and pursue a career in Human Resource, a field in which I had no prior experience. Having analyzed the pros and cons, I chose the road not taken, to prepare for MBA while on the job. My passion for HR drove me to work 12 hours and study 3 hours at night for MBA. A year of sleepless nights and hard work made me crack NMAT exam with 210 marks. Nervousness turned into happiness having cleared the cutoff by just one mark. Too many thoughts ran in my mind on how to outperform students with a higher NMAT score to get a call for CD/PI process. This urged me to prepare even harder for the selection process and finally convert call and get admitted in the MBA HR program of NMIMS Mumbai. #NMIMSMumbai #ABGLPWooMe
