'Aditya Birla-Makes it Big!'-Shubham Pandit,NMIMS Mumbai

When someone says, ‘big in your life’, I perceive it as the most impactful thing in my life. I then turn back and see the significant moments that made an impact and are still there with me. So, it’s the first house that we built 20 years ago, I grew up there, started my school and college, completed my education, my brother got married. This house has seen most of my life and is still standing strong with all of us. This has made an impact and for the same reason is ‘big for me’. Now I could understand, how a building made of concrete cement can be big for you. But then I trace back, when you say cement, I understand just one brand Aditya Birla Group’s ‘Ultratech Cement-India’s No 1 Cement’. I then realize this group has been there with me throughout my life and is still there, with an amazing collection of Brands and Products. Starting with my mobile network, Vodafone-Idea, world’s second largest mobile network Provider company, with wide range of Network and services. I have my bed sheets made from Linen, so Brand Linen Club again an Aditya Birla Group Brand. Fashion for me has always been Pantaloons which offers brands like ‘Peter England’,’ Van Heusen’, ’Allen Solly’ and several others. About 7.5 Million people from the weaker section of the society has seen their life change through the CSR initiative. It has made a huge impact in the lives of school going children. Through the Self-Help groups, they have setup Solar Urja lamp assembly units which are distributed to school going children. Thus, helping the children as well as the Women. All these things are integral part of my life and Aditya Birla group has nurtured them for me and made them big.

Being one of the biggest cement producer the Aditya Birla Group has its contribution in the most amazing of infrastructures. It starts with the concrete foundation of our homes, from where we step out on the cement roads, carrying the latest fashion trends with a smartphone in one hand and the keys of a bike in another, Aditya Birla Group has its share in each one of these. MOVE FORWARD NO MATTER WHAT-SAMEER GANDHEWAR, NMIMS MUMBAI

I feel major tools for tackling challenges to achieve ambitions are confidence and desire to do things. When I was a kid I was strong at both of the qualities mentioned above. I regularly achieved things which I dreamt of, be it becoming a school captain to leading school football team. As I grew up another quality that helped me achieve my ambitions was risk-taking ability. After my first attempt in engineering competitive exams, I was not getting college and branch of my choice. I was in a dilemma whether to settle up for the college which I get or take one more attempt by taking a year drop which was a risky one. I went for the riskier option and it was indeed fruitful and I ended up with a NIT and indeed it proved higher the risk higher the returns. the Next tool which helped me overcoming challenges is patience. Engineering placements had begun and my friends were getting placed each day. I was rejected from 12 company interviews and I started feeling a bit depressed, although I was always confident of my skills and hence even after rejections I was sitting for next company interviews I knew I had to be patient as in Hindi  they say “sabra ka fal meetha hota hai” and it proved true when I was selected in Airtel’s young technical leader’s program which was one of the best roles offered on our campus also I was selected as campus brand ambassador by Airtel as my performance was best among all selected ones. Hence I feel confidence, desire to do things, risk-taking ability and patience are some keys to overcoming challenges.
