Well everyone loves a good drama; in IIM Indore you have the whole package of spectacles. With a campus, this photogenic, huge and at the heart of the country; you could not expect any less.
IIM Indore has situated 25 Km out of Indore city near Rau. The first thing anyone notices while arriving at the institute is the unique location of the campus. Situated on a solo hill, the campus can be seen from miles away and looks real beautiful at night when all is lighted up. Daily trekking up and down the stairs for the classes is an experience.
I had the opportunity to intern with the Aditya Birla Group over the summer of 2019 as part of their Group Internship Program. The Group Internship Program, or the GIP, is part of the Aditya Birla Leadership Programs. The aim of this program is to groom exceptional individuals to be future leaders of the group. My project was with the Pulp and Fiber division of Grasim, called Birla Cellulose. Grasim is one the flagship companies of the Aditya Birla Group, and the Pulp and Fiber division is one of the market leaders in Viscose Staple Fiber (VSF) production worldwide.
Talking about memorable experiences, well, I am amazed that I already have so many memorable ones in such a short amount of time. Before entering into my class on the first day, I had few reservations in my mind regarding the two-year journey that I was going to begin and had butterflies in my stomach.
As I think about writing this piece, my mind immediately began to race among everything I could share from what I have learnt in past 2 months. I interned with ICICI bank in RSPPG group which is the Retail strategy group. As the peak summer of 2018 started, I landed in a place that has hypnotised every soul that has had a taste of it, Mumbai!! Upon arriving at magnificent ICICI's headquarter in BKC (Bandra-Kurla Complex), I was filled with mixed emotions, both of anxiety and excitement. The one-day induction showed us how ICICI bank began its journey, its DYNAMIC values and how they are putting efforts to revolutionise banking for people. There were multiple sessions taken by the industry heads and at the end, we had a grand dinner party along a poolside in the headquarter itself. This was a networking session, a great opportunity to meet many industry stalwarts and get to know their expectations of how we can contribute to an institution like ICICI.
Let me tell you the five very unique attributes that differentiate Indore from other b-schools in the League:

Born into the family of orthodox and conservative beliefs, I have never dreamed of continuing my education after my marriage which was pretty early at age of 18 years.But then something miraculously changed in the dynamics of my marriage, my husband who is a Merchant Navy sailor sailing as navigational officer encouraged me to continue my graduation despite protests from my in-laws. In the end, they too agreed and my journey towards education started after a gap of 2 years.
