When I embarked on the flight for Hyderabad on 11th June, I could not have imagined in the wildest of my dreams what I would experience in the coming five weeks. Having worked previously, I had some expectations from the onboarding and had set a pretty high bar, having gone through a great onboarding last time. What followed was beyond anything I had imagined and probably the most memorable welcome I will ever experience.
MBA – Masters of Business Administration, a postgraduate degree which is said to be the ticket towards a golden future. A wishing well which would make all your wishes come true, and the new ‘engineering degree’ of India. But as an old adage goes, ‘every coin has two faces’, the same goes for an MBA. After a certain point in life, we feel that we are running towards unknown. We start questioning ourselves: ‘Is this it? Have I accomplished what I wanted to? Can I stop now? Should I pursue MBA?’
Well, it is not every day that you get a message from one the world largest organisations, saying..”You are the Chosen One” and inviting to be a part of the fourth batch of HUL Premier 30 League Tree. Stepping out of one’s commitments at a B-school is never easy but with P30LT, I was sure I had to push other engagements through. A couple of days later, a good eight hour journey from Shillong led me to the event at the HUL headquarters, which was to be my abode for the next two days. I discovered a splendid utility-rich HUL hamper and a t-shirt neatly placed in the room, and the surprises had only just begun. The next morning, I got some time to interact with a few colleagues over the breakfast and post a brief introductory note I was set for the session.

The internship takes place between the first and the second year and provides students, who by this time are familiar with the theories behind Marketing, Finance, Human Resource management and Operations management, a chance to engage in fieldwork.
