Your First-month Experience In DMS IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.

Heading towards college life again after a 3-year gap was a difficult decision for me. I was all into the corporate world and the fear of college life was all over me. After giving it, some thought for a while, I decided to take the exam, and here I am studying at one of the oldest and most prestigious institutes in the country. With days passing by, I was bracing myself for the new journey and mentally preparing myself for the same. And finally, after a long wait, D-day arrived. The day went on, interacting with faculty members and giving an introduction to all around us. Interacting with seniors and faculty members was very satisfying, and I felt my decision was correct. The taste of joining the IIT institute started the very next day, as all the lectures started in a full-fledged manner and the classes were interactive and engaging. I never thought online classes were so interactive, but all our reputed faculties justified every bit of it. With so many emails in my inbox now and then, I get the feeling that I am still part of corporate and working for clients. But to be honest, it was difficult to catch up in the initial weeks. It felt like things were happening so fast, but slowly I got it, this is how MBA life is, and I needed to get out of my comfort zone. The advantage, I think, one has in pursuing an MBA from IIT is that you get the perfect blend of management and technical learning. Going with the class flow and everyday routine, it was time to be a part of the legacy and join different committees. And here we started with the TPC committee recruitment process, which was conducted smoothly. Kudos to the TPC members. I faced interviews again after so long, and I had a different feeling of nervousness and excitement. It went smoothly, and I felt confident being among the members of the new team, and guess what, I made it, finally. With the days passing by, I was enjoying every bit of it, and with my wonderful classmates and friends around, it was a super thrilling time. From doing late-night committee work and late-night meetings, I believe these two years have a lot more to offer. Although this pandemic has made us slaves to online teaching, writing semester exams or quizzes online was never our forte. All of us were still figuring out how the quizzes would be conducted online and how we were going to score and do well. In the end, everything went smoothly, and we broke the jinx of our fear. Every day here is a new day for me, with a lot of learning and challenges. The opportunity to participate in different inter-college competitions and in-house competitions has become a part of us. There's a lot to learn here, and there's plenty of help from faculty and seniors. The first month of the journey has been a roller coaster with a perfect blend of stress and excitement. This new start has made me more mature and responsible than before, and I agree that it has positively impacted me and changed the perspective I had a month back. Although we are still awaiting our campus life to get started, online classes are no less fun. The environment and the aroma around me have kept my interest intact and have motivated me to strive every day and keep updating myself. I am confident that my decision will transform me into a better person and will bring the best out of me.

What Doesn’t Kill Me, Makes Me Stronger Ft. Rounak Lohia, IIM Rohtak, 2021-2023

Born in the beautiful city of Ranchi, the city of waterfalls and scenic pleasantry, Rounak has always been a cherished child. Being the eldest son in his family, the weight of responsibilities never left his shoulders but as Newton’s third law says: Every action has an equal and opposite reaction; his strong will and determination pushed back equally and he rose up to shine brighter than Sirius. Let’s read his story in his own words –

VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur To Launch The Second Online Edition Of Its B-School Fest, Purvodaya’22

The world we live in is continually changing at such a lightning pace that it is challenging to keep up. As a result, organizations feel burned out, which encourages leaders to steer the organizations on a new path to lead through the turbulence that defines the modern world. Approaching these difficulties traditionally will not yield the expected results. One can only make changes and create a competitive advantage by breaking the paradigms. Effective leaders always inspire and lead their people to challenge their paradigms. Breaking paradigms and thinking "outside the box" is critical for producing breakthrough results. By encapsulating these concepts, the stage is now set for the Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur, to launch the online adaptation of the institute's annual B-school fest- Purvodaya for the second time. The central theme – "Breaking the Paradigms," sets a perfect tone for the event as the companies are undergoing transformational changes to reinvent their processes to emerge as leaders in this revolutionary period.
