That fateful day I still remember.

2 weeks to go for exams.

I would be moving to high school. I was now eligible to be called a young man.

Coaching classes were in full swing and I was one among the 10 or so skating under the supervision of our coach.

But overconfidence got the best of me. Trying to impress the pretty girls with my stylish moves, I skid and fell on my back.

I didn't realise till I saw my hand that it was fractured.

It looked like I had 2 elbows in a single hand.

I was rushed to the doctor and the X ray showed bone dislocation.

2 weeks to exam and here I was with a broken bone.

The doctor says I will not be able to write for a considerable time as it needs time to heal.

It would mean missing exams.

I was not the type who would give up so easily.

I was right handed, but now I will have to learn to write with my left hand.

I practiced day and night.

Everything I studied, I also wrote and finally I was able to master writing legibly with my left hand too.

I wrote my exams.

Did well too.

Looking back. Its one of the bitter-sweet memories of my life.
