I am an engineer graduated in 2019. I got stuck whether to attend placements or focus completely on CAT. I was under pressure from friends and lecturers to go with placements. But, I strongly don't want to continue with IT job. I see myself as a leader and I want to live my life in that career as soon as possible.
So I started to prepare for CAT during my final year of under graduation. In august, we were supposed to submit a project and my guide is our HOD. I got a team of four. It was a pressure added on me, dealing with project, internal exams, and semester exams during November. Clearly, I cant score a very good percentile in CAT(88%). The only option I was left with -XAT, which was in January. For two months, I hardly had 4 hours of sleep and I worked with my full potential. Of course the results followed and I scored 96%.
But then the real challenge came with GD and PI. It was hard to convince the panel members as I have no work experience. The question I faced in many interviews was: "You have no work experience and I feel you are unfit for MBA". This brought me down. I was afraid to give further interviews. For a while I felt, may be my decision about MBA was wrong. This same question kicked me and I started reading books, getting to know the life stories of established people. I build-up the confidence and I was in search of that one single decent platform for me to do MBA and prove what I am and what I can do. Finally, I gave interview, converted and doing my MBA.
My life taught me one single lesson- Trust the work you do and never listen to judgements, good or bad.
