Wishing to pursue my PGPM with a specialization in finance at the best institute was my wish and after interviews I got offer letters from IIM Udaipur, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Kashipur and IIM Trichy. I then selected Udaipur and Trichy as my main options as they were the ones standing out of the second generation IIMs.
I inquired quite a lot about IIM Udaipur about how the campus was great, I met a few students during city meets organized and listened to them about the institute and the various achievements they had and the infrastructure there, but I got to know that the programme had not developed its core around the finance curriculum.
Later I got to know about IIM Trichy through the websites and news the IIM being ranked 7th among all the new IIMs and it was mentored by IIM Bangalore during its inception.
It has a great culture where the student body as a part of the institute organizes various activities and everyone dream of bringing the brand IIM Trichy to that of the old IIMs. Visiting the websites of various groups and clubs showcased the great culture here at Trichy. It has got state of the art infrastructure be it the academics, the library, the IT, the Hostels. Inquiring along my dad got to know that one of the engineers in charge of constructing the campus was a colleague of his and inquiring further more details about how life at the campus was like and how are the conditions here at IIM Trichy were like gave me a better picture of IIM Trichy.
He explained the great infrastructure being built and his impression of the dean and the institute I was positive about the institute. Meeting and speaking to seniors at batch meets organized before joining brought a great lot of information about IIM Trichy and its great number of choices for specialization that there were quite a lot of electives for finance were quite a lot and were in line with 70% of the syllabus for CFA. The professors here were also quite great and experienced and has around 35 permanent faculty.
The seniors were very helpful and were very much helpful and I understood that to study at such an institute with great facilities, faculty and a good choice for my PGPM finance specialization. I knew I had to join IIM Trichy. Well, here I am and am sure I made the right choice.
Which Aditya Birla Group company would you want to work for and why?
I would like to work for Aditya Birla Capital as it is the company responsible for all the financial services of a giant in the industry the Aditya Birla Group it would help me to learn more about the various financial products and learn more in the field of finance which I would like to specialize on. It would be a great opportunity for me to take my first managerial role in such a company.
