A person sees what he likes to see, explore the areas which he likes to explore. As an environment enthusiast, I like to see sustainability practices applied at different places or what other practices can be implemented. As a result, my first area of observation about the campus was about how sustainable and green my campus is. To my surprise, I realise my campus is very sustainable. I would like to explain that with a few examples.
- The canopy of trees around the buildings and hostels help to prevent sun rays to fall on the buildings directly. As a result, the wall remains cool even in peak hot summers which ultimately decreases the need of air conditioner and helps to survive in the tropical heat of Orissa
- Apart from this, the side pavements have been utilised for plantations instead of making them out of concrete. This helps the water to seep inside the earth helping in an increase of water table and preventing soil erosion.
- The complete rooftop has been covered with solar PV plant. As I belong to the Renewable Energy sector this is like the best thing I can expect out of my college.
As a person who loves to jog, this place gives me a chance to jog in the early mornings in a very clean environment which I find difficult in my native city.
I believe sustainability and development should go hand in hand because ultimately it’s us who are going to bear the consequences.
ABG company I would like to work for:
I want to work at the Fashion line of Aditya Birla Group. As I am very keen to work in the brick and mortar business of retail fashion. My interest lies in scaling profitable business along with increasing the footprint of the areas where famous brands are still not available.I want to explore how the various brands under Madura Fashions can be taken to another level.
