PART A
How Aditya Birla Group is big in my life:-
Aditya Birla group has always been an important part of my life. Be it the customary Loius Phillipe formals that I wear for interviews and presentations, or the Bandra Worli Sea link I used to avoid traffc. It has speciallly been helpful in my junior college days with minimal telecom service charge from Idea. The network literally saved me when I stuck in a building lift and the security bell didn't help.
ABG’s CSR initiatives have always inspired me. The contribution made by ABG for society in Education, Health, Employment, and many other sectors is remarkable and I’m sure in the years ahead it will keep motivating me to stick to the path that I have chosen for myself.
PART B
Dreams are not for people who sleep.
I was born to family which has a history of starting various business. Some successful, while most weren't. I was probably the first Tanna of my clan in more than 150 years to do a job. But the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The dream is still to start a business but much later in life, once enough experience and capital. I realised this dream when I was 17. Therefore, I joined NMIMS Mumbai to study BBA.
Learning from the best of the faculty, getting placed at Foxymoron, heading flagship events at Vaayu (the college festival), getting exposure through lectures from industry stalwarts, participating in voluntaring activities and winning at most of the sport events accounted for a successful undergraduation. I chose to pursue my postgraduation to upgrade and upskill myself. I decided to come to TAPMI to ensure I get the networking access with the best talent pool of the country. I was then introduced to BrandScan. It was probably the best and worst day of my life.
BrandScan is the market research wing of TA Pai management institute. It helps companies do market research in a disguised format since the last 26 years in urban semi urban formats. BrandScan has done over 340 projects for the most renowned names in the country like ITC, L'Oréal, BSE, Flipkart, ICICI, etc. With this great legacy that has been around, the work pressure along with rigourous academic rules of TAPMI made the first year of college the toughest year of my career. We worked for 10 hrs a day for Brandscan post attending lectures and completing assignments. Cold calling potential companies for sponsorships and projects, designing the research objectives and creative activations for potential companies, discussing the work completed with the entire team and preparing new prospect lists to contact for the day after constituted majority of the work. As the event cam closer getting the participants, managing the mall, the vendors and logistics was the rest. We pulled off the biggest Brandscan event since its inception and are planning to make it even bigger this year.
Joining Brandscan was for one of the better decisions of my life. It was another step in the right direction and the dream is one step closer with the immense network that I built along with the self discovery of the amount of work I can pull off!
I learnt the most valuable lesson with Brandscan: Fall down 7 times, stand up 8.
