At the core of the ABGLP programme are people who drive to make an impact, irrespective of what challenges they face. Tell us, in at least 250 words, how you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far.

Life without challenges is a life without purpose. In life if we want to achieve something we are bound to come across some failures, set backs and challenges. Ever since my childhood I have been a girl with very low immunity who never took care of her health. I always took the saying Health is Wealth too lightly. I had to pay for the same during my 12th board exams.

We had a gap of around 3 days between the last two exams, and I was diagnosed with measles and typhoid both at that period of time. Measles and Typhoid together made to too weak to even sit down let apart studying for the exams. The doctor advised me to get hospitalized and take saline. I did not get hospitalized, but a saline channel was made at my home itself. The day before my last exam my father came to me and said that I don’t need to give the exam and I can repeat next year. I was physically weak but mentally strong as a rock. I knew I might have not been able to study for last 3 days, but I had prepared for this day from last one year. How can I not write the exam? How can be so weak mentally? I kept asking myself. I decided to write the exam next day no matter what.

On the day of exam, I wrote the exam in a different room allotted by the center. I had my parents, my sibling waiting for me outside the examination hall all set to take me to the nearest hospital in case of emergency. After the results came out I was happy to see I cleared the particular paper with average marks. However, this had lowered down my percentage as a whole. I faced some difficulties to get admission in good colleges for my bachelors. That couldn’t stop me either. I finally cleared CAT and took admission in TAPMI, living my dream of becoming a manager.
