“Conduct many such events that nurture entrepreneurship on campus” said Mahesh, a first year student and participant of bizness, as the campus was abuzz with entrepreneurial fervor during the three day entrepreneurship summit at IIM Lucknow.
Entrepreneurship Cell, IIM-L promotes the entrepreneurial spirit in campus throughout the year. Entrepreneurship is something very nascent and necessary in a country like India. The motivation that drives every member of E-Cell is to foster creativity, innovation and risk taking abilities in students.
E-Summit, the flagship event of E-Cell, IIM Lucknow was held recently in the campus. The 3-day Summit hosts a series of events for students to innovate, test their business acumen and bag exciting prizes. While ‘BIZNESS’ gives an opportunity to showcase the Entrepreneurial and Investment mettle with Real Money, Real Business & Real Profits! The business stalls put up this year included anonymous roses, paani puri stall, darts and other games, barbequed chicken, nail art and poster printing. The winning team which opened a fast food outlet made a nearly double revenue by investing only about 12,000!!! Their response to the event, “We gained amazing insights into the business with crazy amount of fun. We plan to start a restaurant in the future and this event provided us with a first-hand opportunity to experiment it.
Among the other events hosted by E-Cell, 'MARGDARSHAN' gives students an opportunity to interact with IIML Alum entrepreneurs, ‘SRIJAN’ gives you a chance to propose your business plan to the Venture Capitalists and get INCUBATED! For those who would like to address productivity issues of the MSME sector & seek to provide tangible solutions, MSME Conclave 2014 addresses various growth issues related to MSMEs across India. This year two new events Campuspreneur and Funky Ideas V1.0 were introduced. The response from the entire IIML community was overwhelming. We are sure to see some innovative budding entrepreneurs from the cradle of IIM Lucknow :-)).
