Transitioning from NIT Jaipur to IIM Nagpur has been a journey of learning, growth, and transformation. My technical and analytical foundation was strengthened at NIT Jaipur, but I gradually developed an interest in business strategy and leadership. As Vice President, I managed large-scale events, coordinated with multiple stakeholders, and handled budgets, which helped me develop skills in planning, communication, and decision-making. These experiences made me realize my inclination toward management and the broader dynamics of how businesses operate.
Eager to transition into management, while balancing CAT preparation with a demanding role as an IT Analyst at one of India’s largest banks was a challenging yet defining phase. Though challenging, the aspiration to join a prestigious institution like IIM Nagpur kept me motivated. Securing admission was a moment of triumph and the beginning of an exciting new phase.
At IIM Nagpur, the case-based pedagogy, rigorous curriculum, and industry interactions have broadened my perspective on business strategy and leadership. The institute’s dynamic learning environment has helped me develop a structured approach to problem-solving and decision-making. Taking on leadership roles, such as serving as a class representative, has further refined my managerial skills and allowed me to contribute meaningfully to my peers' learning experience.
IIM Nagpur has played a pivotal role in shaping my journey. The institute’s collaborative culture, industry-driven approach, and diverse peer network have prepared me to tackle real-world business challenges with confidence. Moving forward, I am excited to apply these learnings and contribute meaningfully to the corporate world, carrying forward the vision and perseverance that IIM Nagpur has instilled in me.
Kshitij is a 1st year MBA student at IIM Nagpur and the class representative of one of the 5 sections. He worked as an IT analyst in one of the largest banks in India for 11 months before joining IIM Nagpur. In his free time, he loves to listen to music and go on long drives.
