Aanya Wig is a recent graduate from Lady Sri Ram College for Women and is a SUSI scholar who was one of the four girls to represent India recently. She is co-founder of Girl Up Rise, an UN foundation collaboration to empower women across the world. A student-led organization, this venture was ideated in October 2019, with the single aim of changing the way women are perceived in society and inspiring the new generation of girls to be a force for gender equality and social change. A public speaker and a student of Human Rights and International Humanitarian & Refugee Laws, she is currently interning with UNESCO and believes in achieving gender equality. In this video, Aanya talks about her journey and her goal of achieving the same and talks about a few shifts in the workplaces that needs to take place for equality to prevail.
