After some time, I met my store manager and cluster manager, and they asked me to introduce myself to all managers. It was here that my journey began at LG.
Firstly, I formed a good relationship with existing sales executives. The first 3 or 4 days, I was listening to all communication with customers through existing sales executives and gained knowledge about all the product’s features. It helped me a lot when gave demonstrations to customers. Here, I learned how to interact with different types of customers.
After some time, I started to close the customers individually. This was a great achievement for me. At my store, LG promoted some products through an event which I had managed. This had happened twice in my store. Essentially, it was a singing competition and LG promoted sound system series. After some time, there was a festival called Gudi Padwa, which is celebrated by Maharashtrians.
At this festive time, people believe purchasing electronic products to be auspicious. At that time, I decorated my shop with some gift boxes and exciting offers which were given by the dealer. I also designed a hoarding where I displayed offered. Some seniors came at that time and they appreciated my efforts. After some days, I received a call from LG - I was selected to go for an exhibition.
At the exhibition, I learned a lot. There were many brands which were available such as Samsung, Sony, TCL, IFB, Godrej, etc. When I entered the Expo, I heard the sales target amount which would be given by the company. It was 6.5 crores in 10 days. When I was starting my first day at the expo, 9 other people joined the expo. I met all people that day and coordinated with them. The first two days at LG there were very few sales but it gave the best offers compared to other companies.
It was then that I thought, why are the sales of my company’s product so low? We had more number of people compared to the other brand, and also provided best offers along with a good name in the market. The next day, we all discussed this and assigned different work to everyone.
After 3 days we started to increase the sales of the products. After then, we ruled the whole expo. All seniors and managers were very happy with us. Finally, we achieved the target and got a trip to Water Kingdom! We also got letters of excellence from LG. I learned many things which will help me in the future in the corporate world.
I sold approximately 100 products individually in 3 months. During this period, I met the Managing Director of LG, Mr. Kim Ki-wan.
Thank you, LG for giving me a great opportunity to work with you. It’s a wonderful experience for me. My mentor was Ashutosh Agrwal (Marketing head of Mumbai).
