SIBM Pune, a college that came into reality as a brainchild of Dr. S.B. Mujumdar is unique in various aspects. The picturesque campus located at the hill top nurtures in itself an ecosystem; an ecosystem of the diverse flora and fauna; an ecosystem for learning through the process of symbiosis.
The reason why I am calling this as an ecosystem is because of the fact that it is not just an MBA campus rather it is an exquisite concoction of various other fields such as Engineering, Photography and Cinema, Banking and finance, Telecommunication etc. This diversity is what makes SIBM an ecosystem. An ecosystem where one can work with others for mutual benefits.
Talking about flora and fauna, the college is located at the hill top of Sahayadri range and acquires an area of approximately 250 acres. The campus provides a safe haven for the migratory birds, and other wild species such as Peacock, Snake and other reptiles. The place is a heaven for bird watchers, wild life enthusiasts and trackers. In terms of beauty and aesthetics also there is no match for SIBM; we had some of the famous movies shot at our campus.
When most of the colleges in India are moving towards westernized culture or rather I may say open culture, Symbiosis is the college which is promoting the India ethos and values. The tag line of the college “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” in itself tells about the principle that college nurtures.
At the entry gate, we have astatue of Goddess “Saraswati” who is considered as the symbol of knowledge and wisdom. To induce the spirit of National respect we daily play the National song at out hostels. Our batch at SIBM Pune consists of 180+20 students which is a small number, on top of that it is a student-driven college so most of the activities at the campus is organized by the students this gives each and every student a chance to get an experience of how to manage the stress and handle the roles assigned.
One more thing that I liked about the college is that it can be harsh and helpful towards the student at the same time. A place where indiscipline is not accepted at all and at the same time a place where your problems are listened to and solved by the authorities is what makes #SIBM UNIQUE.
Which ABG company would you like to work for and why?
Aditya Birla Capital Limited (ABCL), being one of the largest financial Service players, is the Company for which I would love to work for. ABCL is the holding company of all the financial services businesses of the Aditya Birla Group. Further the group is divided into various sectors such as Health Insurance, Housing Finance, Insurance Broker, Asset Reconstruction Company and many more.
Pursuing a Management degree in Finance, I think that the ABCL would be a dream company for me. Here I would be able to learn and work in various sectors of finance and this would help me to prosper in future.
