With the vibrant varieties and formidable combination of academic, co-curricular activities and nature, a small enthusiastic world is situated inside the campus of IIM Indore. The sun rises with the soft musical sound of birds that surrounds the environment and brings people a step nearer to nature. When the delightful free air touches you and passes by it gives the feeling of heaven. The campus is located far away from the chaos and pollution of the city. The curve, clean, greyish roads running inside the campus is not just a road it is the path of our hard work, success, achievements, memories and dreams. It is a completely residential campus, with accommodation for the participants of all courses which creates camaraderie and long-term friendships.
The campus represents the perfect blend of panic and peace. There is continuous workflow of assignments, classes, activities, clubs which sometimes makes you panic but it helps to develop your stewardship quality. There is always a pressure to complete the assignments within the deadline and once it happens, it provides the feeling of unwinding and peace. The uninterrupted activities involving mental and physical effort to achieve the result, makes the campus never sleeps.
The time here passes with the blink. The day doesn’t depend on the number of hours rather it depends on the work and activities in which we are imbibed. Life at IIM Indore may be hectic, frenetic, downright hair-splittingly, tiring but it is never dull.
There are few things that make our campus unique, special and place of attraction—
1. Celebration: IIM Indore has a vast diversity of people coming from different states along with their different customs and festivals and each festival is celebrated with the same zest and excitement. Even a birthday become a reason to celebrate.
2. Rural Immersion Programme: This programme is a unique initiative to sensitize the students towards the various schemes undertaken by the government in villages and to study and analyze their execution and effectiveness. It also gives us the opportunity to apply our classroom learnings to a real-time environment. Additionally, it offers a chance to explore the rural markets and identify implementation gaps or business opportunities, which can help fill these gaps.
3. Himalayan Trip: The institute focuses on experiential learning as a means of cultivating teambuilding and leadership skills which cannot be imparted through mere textbook learning. This gives students an opportunity to explore the Himalayas while bonding with their peers. In addition, the programme sensitizes the students towards being more aware of their natural surroundings.
4. Utsaha: The rural marketing research event, organized by student community of the institute. It is an attempt to decipher the consumer’s mind and bridge the gap between a marketer’s plan and consumer’s behaviour.
5. Recreational Centre: The institute also focuses on sports and fun-loving activities. There is provision for a gym, aerobics centre, squash, lawn tennis court and much more. The jewel in the crown is perhaps the Olympic size swimming pool with provision for coaching as well. And most importantly, life on our campus is an exhilarating and unexpected roller coaster ride, where each and every student adds their own species and flavour of life.
