Why IIM Trichy?
Well, this is one question which seems easy apparently but is damn tough. It's never easy to make a choice when you have many options and all, more or less equally good. As such, what is generally done is parameter setting which may differ from one person to other. That's what I did. I had a few things in mind with respect to my selection of b-school I would be going into. I had multiple choices, so I set up the following parameters for myself. These were
1. Brand: Brand matters a lot and help you take places. Among all the new IIMs, Trichy undisputedly stands first in this aspect. I feel really proud when I say I have converted IIM Trichy and the reaction of the people I get thereafter. It speaks the volume of the brand that IIM Trichy has become in a very short time span of just 7 years.
2. Pedagogy: This is my topmost priority. I wanted to join b-school for its pedagogy. I have learned that the professors in a B-school are top notch. I wanted to experience this and that's why I took CAT exam in the first place. It is also learned that IIM Trichy ropes in many professors from old IIMs like Bangalore. What could be better than learning from the faculty of one of the best b-schools of India? Hence, I preferred IIM Trichy to other new IIMs.
3. Placement scenario: One of the most important reasons why students prefer one b-school to others. Among all the calls I had, IIM Trichy stood ahead of others in this aspect. It has some dream companies like Google visiting to hire the students. That's the reason I chose IIM Trichy.
4. Location: Again, this becomes a deciding factor for students. Generally, people want to stay near their home. However, this was not the case with me. I wanted to stay in south for some time because I have never been to south India. And I wanted so because I have found people from south very helpful during my stay of 2 years at Accenture. Moreover, it is said that cities which have better connectivity have better chances of topmost brands visiting them. Trichy has great connectivity with all the metro cities which facilitates better industry exposure to its students. This factor also contributed in making a final choice.
5. Campus: Each student aspires to have a great ambience around him. A well-built infrastructure facilitates better learning experience and ensures holistic development of the student. IIM Trichy is one of the few new IIMs which has its own state-of-the-art campus. Hence, I preferred IIM Trichy.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
If given an opportunity, I would like to work with Idea Cellular Ltd, a part of Aditya Birla Group (ABG). This is because it is in line with my educational background I.e. Telecommunication. Owing to this, I might get an opportunity to look into my field of education on a broader level and understand How things work in the telecommunications industry. Moreover, It will also be an opportunity to prove my versatility through the fact that I can switch between industries and can give my best wherever I go and who whatever I do.
