There are two important stories from my life, where Aditya Birla Group was big in my life directly or indirectly. These stories or incidents have had a significant impact on me.

First,

In 2016, During Diwali season, I assisted my cousin to shop from Peter England’s outlet in Kota. I had never been to PE before. The collection and the ambience there was really good. But what was even more important was the behaviour of salesmen there, which enhanced the shopping experience multiple times. It was a Company Owned Company Operated outlet, where every salesman is given training to handle every customer with a personal touch and patience. There was one particular salesman named Ajay aged 20 that time. I listened to his story. Being an orphan the kind of struggle that he faced and still he never gave up in life and always carried a sparkling smile. That was really inspiring. Later, I invited him to my home to celebrate diwali with me and my family. Even after being not much formally educated, he has so much to be learnt from. I always feel grateful to Peter England’s and thus Aditya Birla Group, through which I found such a good friend.

 Second,

“The most important factor that keeps me going is the kind of people I work with.” I came across this quote by Kumar Mangalam Birla two years back in 2017. In 2017, I cofounded a wellness and nutrition start-up with three of my team members. The vision was to cater nutritional needs of coaching students in Kota, Rajasthan. For initial months, all of us were working very enthusiastically to create a successful customer centric business model. We created the business model, built products, and started acquiring customers. But as the time progressed, our customer count got stagnant. No matter what strategy we used, we were not able to grow our customer base for a long time. That time me and my team started to get disheartened. Since, most of us had taken this entrepreneurial path not in accordance with our parent’s will, so the pressure was even high. During one of those days, when I was feeling very low and losing my drive to work, when I came home post my work, I came across this quote and the series of memories hit me. All those moments, where we, as a team achieved the initial milestones, spent sleepless nights brainstorming about our product, stole some time to go on long rides. I understood one fact that firstly I need to stay motivated for my team and as the team lead, to keep my team motivated and keep on improving the products and strategies. Next day, when I went to my workplace I was positively charged and the same effect got induced in my team too. We tried to identify some loopholes and worked to improve on those. And eventually, we were able to make a cross business’s break-even point. So that way ABG was big in my life.
