A quiet path winds its way up the hill side climbing steadily, through lush foliage. Coming out of the populous and busy city of Pune, it feels like stepping back through time to the past when life was much simpler. The winding hairpin turns eventually lead to a tall pair of gates which is when it hits you.
It is the end of a journey of many trials of competing with several thousand other aspirants, to come to be a part of this legacy. The statue of the Goddess Saraswati is a sight which will not be forgotten holding court over the gateway to an institute dedicated to developing some of the best management graduates in the country.
Life at the SIBM, Lavale campus harkens back to the old Gurukul days of teaching in the arms of Mother Nature. Nestled in the beautiful Lavale hills famous for the singing rocks and abundance of flora & fauna, students learn to be neighbours with the denizens of the forest. There are often occasions when you are in for a rude shock.
But on the whole, it is an experience worth the effort is taken to get here. The long walks from the hostels to the academic blocks, the stunning scenery not to forget the world-class amenities all add to the grand adventure that is life at the SIBM, Lavale campus. Life at the campus is like the tides - it ebbs and flows as students rush to class & activities or find time to relax and unwind. Sports are abound and there is something from everyone.
Here you can learn and grow in whatever catches your fancy with the guarantee that you will find someone with similar interests to you.
Aditya Birla Group Company of My Dreams: Pantaloons Fashions & Retail
Pantaloons is the arm of the Aditya Birla group of companies I am most keen on working on. As one of my favourite clothing retailers, and preferred shopping store I have often thought of what changes I would make if I was a part of the Pantaloons management teams. With over 80 stores Pantaloons has a pan-India coverage and holds quite an extensive catalogue of products. What I would like to see is for Pantaloons to push its boundaries and to expand both its stores and collections beyond the Indian Subcontinent.
