One word which can describe the whole campus, ‘Hilltop’. The day begins with the peacock scream but no one can see them where they are hiding. The campus is gifted with natural beauty all around. The beautiful sculpture of Goddess Saraswati in front declared to the world that this institution believes in bestowing knowledge to the ones who truly seek.
A walk from the college to the hostel is just like a trekking expedition, with slopes steeping here and there and clouds sneaking in and out and there’s a waterfall too. As my eyes move away from the water gushing through the rocks, I see an amazing sight of green amalgamating with blue in a seamless manner. The great Sport Ground with a backdrop of the skies is a sight worth enduring. The landscape, in spite of being calm and serene, is full of energy and enthusiasm. The constant murmur of birds and the relentless babble of the students doesn’t let you drown in idleness.
When it rains, the sky seems to narrow down on the premises. With clouds hovering all over us and darkening the azure, a chaotic rhythm of winds fills up the spirit with wilderness. Amidst all the pandemonium of thunders and gusts, bubbles burst out of the wide blue yonder. The dance of drops on the fields and the music of rains in galore creates a divine art – an experience that can hardly be penned down!
Rains at Lavale make you feel like Kings and Queens of the Hilltop. The cool breeze after the rains and the wet smell of grounds gets even more endearing when coupled with hot snacks. The heavenly spell is not yet over – You get to see a rainbow too.
A memorable classroom experience in my B-school.
The day begins with walking from the hostel towards mess where one has to wait in a long queue to put breakfast in our plates and walking against the crowd to safely place the plate on the table. This follows with a search for a bicycle to rush to the classroom but one should be lucky enough to find one. There is no other option than walking till the classroom with a bread in my hand which I manage to finish before reaching the class.
The best classroom experience was in Microeconomics class where one needs to read the newspaper and then come for the class where a lot of brainstorming with the concepts has to be done. A lot of stories, prior weird experiences is being shared in the class, which makes everyone laugh and trying to understand the concepts.
Introducing – some of my crazy batch mates
Sai Shivani
A girl with a little long name but always called one of the name from her full name. Either Sai or Shivani. We are not classmates, roommates but yes we are messmates. Met randomly in the mess one day asking reach other about where we can find roti. We go for a walk every morning sharing each others experiences. Guiding each other with the small issues we face and the whole day goes with a positive conversation.
Harshit Surekha
A boy from who have stayed in many places like west Bengal, Bihar, Mauritius and a lot other places which only he can remember. Good at English but speaks Hindi with a Bihari Accent and even his English accent has become the same. Discusses every topic too seriously, difficult to understand why is he so serious? Always eager to go to hill base and pulls everyone to give him company.
VVS Nikhith
Have a long name due to which every faculty face difficulty to pronounce his name during attendance. Have 3 years of experience but calls himself ‘chotu’. Pushes everyone to put forward his points while standing in a group. He is the one who tries to learn Hindi from slangs. We share the same story of our umbrella getting disappeared from the mess and then I became a saviour for him to protect him from rains.
Swamy
Till now I don’t know his real name, met him during the induction programme as we were in the same team. A package of laughter and a motivator for me. We do not meet much but whenever we meet, I learn a lot from him.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why ?
I would like to work with Aditya Birla’s Fashion and retail limited, with Madura fashion and lifestyle a spectrum of brands which really amazed me. I feel doing specialization in marketing and being interested to do something in fashion. I can connect myself with this and thus can be more productive and efficient for the company.
