A NEW HOPE
The MBA galaxy is in the midst of a competitive war trying to roll out matchless strategies to woo the best minds who would be the most sought-after managers of tomorrow. Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune, with a 40 years legacy and an unparallel picturesque campus attracts great, young minds from all over India to be the face of the elite Business school.
Rightly, as the motto of the college says "Vasudev Kutumbakkam" meaning the "the whole world is one family"-it treats every individual human being in
college with equal due respect creating a feeling of oneness among us. Being a Keralite who was brought up and had spent two and a half decade in a city like Chennai, SIBM-Pune had a whole lot to offer in its sumptuous plate which I was ready to gorge upon.
And what are the attracts in SIBM, Pune? Plenty, that I could find just in a 3 weeks stay at the campus. Apart from the splendid view that it has to offer
and being away from hustle and bustle of the city, the campus is home to not just a bunch of diverse students from all parts of India and other parts of the world, but a variety of flora and fauna that makes it look like a wildlife sanctuary.
I got a triple sharing room to stay in the hostel. But I share it with more than just 2 living beings. We have a little kitten named lily, who stays with us, whenever she feels like (though we are not allowed to have pets in our rooms). She just doesn’t leave. We have a splendid collection of Butterflies who visit our room from time to time and keep us entertained with their fluttering. But, the best part of the hostel life is that we wake up to see one of the most beautiful Peacocks dancing her way out to glory just outside our windows. She is our morning sunshine exuding her pure joy that passes on to us for a happy day.
The hectic life in a B-school is a little hectic but the pressure is not really felt because the college teaches you a lot that you don’t even realize it. Having worked as an Embryologist for the past 2.5years in a hospital in Chennai and having been surrounded by people who had the same thought process and
strategies to look at issues and resolve them, similar ideas and innovations, Life at SIBM, Pune opened up my perspectives to look at things from different angles and they different approaches that could be taken to solve the same issue. This galaxy is a new hope!
Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited - Why?
ABFRL is my first preference among all the companies under ABG. The first and the foremost reason is that there is room for plenty of learning opportunities as it combines the businesses of 2 major Indian Fashion icons. Wanting to specialize in marketing, I would like to learn the Umbrella branding strategy it follows and how to retain the loyalty of the customers. The product and market expansion strategies followed by the company would be a great learning curve for budding
entrepreneurs like me who has a great zeal to explore, innovate and make stark differences in the business world.
