Symbiosis International University’s Lavale Campus, the knowledge haven in the midst of heaven
So how does a typical B-School look like?
1.) In the middle of nowhere
2.) More trees in a square metre than in all of Mumbai
3.) Fancy education blocks with students marching up and down dressed in clothes which are as formal as it can get
4.) Students from different cultures from all across the country
Well my Campus is exactly like that. But then what makes it so unique? What drives students to join here other than the course?
The Symbiosis International University’s Lavale Campus where my college SIBM Pune is located is a small world in itself. Being on a campus with five other institutions ranging from Management to Sports Sciences to Culinary, the student group is as diverse in aptitude and skill set as it can get. We are immersed in an atmosphere of learnings from across courses and competencies. With such a wide spectrum of courses, the knowledge sharing across courses is amazing.
Symbiosis is a student driven campus. Students help in even the non- curriculum activities like managing the mess and sports facilities. With the regular MBA rigour, such committee work gives practical management experience and a controlled, yet live environment for a student to push their boundaries and widen their horizons.
The campus’ location is also a strong plus point. It is on the outskirts of Pune, surrounded by nature, yet really close to the city. The institution has frequent shuttles going to-and-fro from the city making it accessible yet away from all the distractions.
The Symbiosis campus has been designed brilliantly, with all needs for students being taken into consideration. The mess has been strategically placed between the hostels and the education block making it convenient for the students. There is also a night canteen inside the hostel enabling them to maximise time utility.
Symbiosis International University’s Lavale campus is a world in itself. A wonderful mixture of a variety of education, rigour, fun and learning.
Which ABG company would you like to work for and why?
I would really love to work for Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. especially for the brands under their Madura Fashion and Lifestyle division. I totally subscribe to belief at ABFRL that “Fashion is perhaps the very first expression of success of a free nation”. I have been an ardent fan and user of the brands under the fashion wing ranging from Louis Philippe to Hackett London. Being a fashionable and creative person with strong beliefs in use of data analytics, working for the firm will enable me to enjoy my passions along with work creating a long-lasting association.
