Well the certificate is proof that you've completed the course. So, I'd say if you're mentioning it on your CV, having a soft copy of the certificate is a good thing. Having a certificate, even if it's digital, adds credibility to your profile from a recruiters perspective. And you can put it up on your own website or social profile too! Besides, you never know if any recruiters might ask to look at a certificate.
