What’s special about the batch of 2020-22 is that in addition to all the factors stated above is the fact that most of us haven’t literally got the chance to step foot on the campus or might never get it, that we might never know the power, the joy and effectiveness of peer learning and group discussions in common rooms and mess, that we might never come up with a 100 different approaches during a discussion for a problem which is stated in a case study, that our learnings and concepts will be diluted because deep down we know that our bedroom stands not a chance when compared to our classroom, that even our professors feel sorry for us, that the entire corporate fraternity doubts our caliber, our skills, and our learnings, that besides giving our 200% in our interviews, we find ourselves writing a post on LinkedIn like digitized vagabonds asking for work, just because a company decided not to get us on board, as per their own convenience.
But what about the students who got onboarded successfully? With a plan to learn and secure the PPO we started dreaming our journey of summers but got struck down by the second wave as a bolt of the blue. Being ill ourselves, with family members being ill, frequent news of the tragic loss of life of known ones, from daily contacting everyone to get a hand on vital medicines to using social media handles to request for leads on vacant hospital beds every two hours, I am sure this isn’t the environment to give our best for the companies who dared to hire us even in these dangerous times.
Being ill, being in the loss of our near and dear ones, being nervous about the career and future, We, the batch of 2020-22 rise up daily and give our 200% in such an environment where happiness is unaccounted for and survival is the priority. All we ask you is to support us as we won't give up, but now is the time.
