For everyone, college days are considered as the best days of their life and they remember the memories for the rest of their life. I also have numerous memories of IIM Raipur and all the shenanigans we did.

I can specifically recall an event, approximately a year ago when I had just commenced my classes in the MBA program here at IIM Raipur. Excited to merge in the new environment and meet new people, I didn’t really know what to expect from the mighty IIMs. Well, I expected one thing, grumpy professors, and that expectation was fulfilled by a professor, says Dr. XYZ.

In our first lecture with him, he arrived in the class exactly at the stroke of the hour. So it was clear that he was extremely strict about the class timings. All the students took their seats in the hubbub of the class. As the lecture proceeded, one particular student, seated in the front row, looked very uncomfortable. He continuously peeked at the wall clock 180 degrees behind him. It seemed as if he really wanted the lecture to get over.

His regular peeking was noted not only by most of the batchmates but also by the professor. The professor ignored his actions a couple of times, but as soon as the boy looked backwards for the third time, professor reached his threshold. He was furious at him for looking at the time regularly. He scolded the poor fellow for being so impatient and told him and the entire class that the lecture won’t get over until and unless he tells so.

The boy said shyly that he was merely looking at the temperature on the digital clock because he was feeling cold. The entire lecture hall burst into laughter and the professor stood there, slightly embarrassed. After a minute though, he acknowledged his mistake of scolding unnecessarily and told the boy what a smart answer he gave. Probably the most strict teacher on the campus was dumbstruck by an equally smart answer!

Which ABG company would I like to work for and why?

I would like to work for Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank Limited of ABG group. I am pursuing my MBA from IIM Raipur in finance domain. So I would like to join a company that provides financial services. With new financial institutions coming to the country, it will be an excellent opportunity to join a payment bank as it will open doors for me in a sector that matches my career objectives. With the GOI also pushing for digitalisation, I see a massive scope for Payment Banks in the country.
