Strategyk Consilium Pvt. Ltd. is a start-up in the management consulting domain, it was my first time working in a start-up environment, having worked in Accenture in the past I would say it was a paradigm shift when we talk about how things work in such kind of environment. Having said that, these two months were filled with immense learning both at a professional and personal level.
I had heard in the past that you learn a lot in a start-up, and my internship gave me an opportunity to experience it. I found myself juggling between different roles every now and then, at one extreme I was designing a training module and on the other extreme I was marketing the program.
Having worked in diverse domains helped me push my limits and explore areas which were untouched like Sales. ‘Sales’ is a great learning which I will carry with me from this Internship. During the period of two months, my LinkedIn network grew multi-folds, this was another value addition for me, reaching out to people across domains, working at different levels in different domains gave me an exposure to what is being done across industries and in what areas.
I learned that ‘Networking’ isn’t about the numbers but ‘the value you add to other person’s life, for what he will remember you for’. This is how relationships are built, it has to be both ways. This internship gave me an opportunity to interact with some of the top executives in various corporate houses, giving me a perspective of how these people think, and what is that which actually matters, and what not.
Being lucky enough to having worked in niche areas of Innovation, Creativity and Design Thinking added to my knowledge and expertise on these subjects from a theoretical as well as the practical implementation aspect. Got first-hand experience of an end to end development of an Innovation workshop, right from scratch. Additionally, I got an idea to what is Management Consulting, what it takes and what are the subsequent rewards. I learnt that the field is extremely satisfying, for the achievement is your own achievement and so the failures. I am grateful for my internship experience for the learning and also the relationships I built during the process.
My Company Mentor
It is said, when work doesn’t seem like work, productivity boosts. I am grateful to Strategyk, for providing me with this kind of working environment. All this was possible because of my company mentor, Mr. Vikram Gupta, Founder and CEO of Strategyk Consilium Pvt. Ltd. , a thorough professional when it comes to work, but also very humble, polite and an empathetic individual. He resorted to constant efforts to make sure that there is some value addition at the end of the internship for us interns. All this work was accompanied by team outings and fun, which added to the team bonding and dynamics, further fueling the healthy working environment. Lastly, I would not be boasting when I say that he is one of best bosses I have worked with.
