From a young age, I had nurtured a fascination with the business world. I yearned to immerse myself in its intricacies. With this passion driving me, I took the CAT exam in 2021, a bold step towards my dreams. Yet, without the proper guidance, I failed.
Undeterred by setbacks, I made a second attempt in 2022, achieving a commendable percentile. However, the elusive sectional cutoffs persisted as formidable barriers. It was then that I stumbled upon a less-traveled path: MBA programs specializing in technology management (Business Analytics) offered by esteemed institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Considering factors such as brand reputation, affordability, placement opportunities, and a curriculum that aligned with my aspirations, I found IIT ISM Dhanbad to be the perfect fit.
This decision marked the beginning of a transformational journey. It was a transition unlike any other, not from one job to another, but from the world of agriculture to the realm of technology and management. My path was unconventional, my destination uncharted.
As I treaded into the heart of IIT Dhanbad, my experiences took a dramatic turn. I discovered that the world of engineering and the world of management were not as separate as they seemed. In fact, they were interconnected, each feeding into the other.
The challenges were relentless, but so was my determination. I learned that management was not just about numbers and strategies but about people, communication, and empathy. The art of leadership was a mosaic of skills, and I was determined to learn every piece.
Looking back, I realize that life's journey is rarely a straight line. It twists, turns, and occasionally throws you into uncharted territory. But it's in these uncharted waters that we often discover our true potential.
My transition from engineering to management has been an unconventional voyage, full of unexpected detours and profound self-discovery. I've come to understand that while the path less traveled may be fraught with challenges, it can also be the most rewarding.
As I embrace the rigors of the MBA program at IIT Dhanbad, I am reminded that life's true beauty lies in its unpredictability. Every obstacle has been a stepping stone, every setback a setup for a comeback.
I have chosen to live my journey to the fullest, to revel in the excitement of the unknown, and to embrace the unconventional, for it's these elements that have made my experience of navigating the engineering-to-management transition a unique and enriching one.
