SIBM Pune has a different style of pedagogy from other B-Schools. While as a finance student, one’s mind is attuned to think on the lines of an organization’s cash, teachers at SIBM Pune further supplement the thought process by means of enhancing “KASH”- Knowledge, Attitude, Skills and Habits which is why Case Study approach is used here to develop the same.
Here the students are encouraged to channel their energies towards their areas of interest right at the start of the term. Along with core MBA subjects, Finance specific subjects are taught in the first year to enable students with the knowledge necessary to crack summer placements. The exposure is just not limited to theoretical aspects; a well-maintained Bloomberg facility is present which gives a hand’s on experience on Bloomberg terminals that are deployed by nearly all top financial firms.
Moreover, the college provides terminals for “Bloomberg Market Concepts” certification which helps students in familiarizing with financial jargons and its commands. All the concepts and learning are finally reinforced through corporate competitions such as IB League, a competition on Investment Banking. For stock market enthusiasts there is a virtual trading platform where one can have a go at the stock market and try out various strategies to practice becoming the “King of Dalal Street” in real life.
To top it all, there is “Caf-Fin”- the Finance club of SIBM Pune. As the name suggests they make sure that students remain as addicted to Finance as people are to coffee. Conducting competitions, providing weekly newsletters and relevant articles are some of the tasks that they undertake to keep students updated with relevant financial news from around the world.

With JAM (Jandhan Aadhar Mobile ) Trinity in place, The financial inclusion has been made feasible. The payments bank has a larger role to play by making basic financial services available to a marginalized population. I have 2+ years of work experience in implementation of Core Banking Solution at domestic and International banks, hence I feel inclined to work with the payments bank.
