I was approaching one of the biggest educational milestones in my life, the 10thstandard board exams. The exams were just around the corner and a new chapter was about to get unfolded. With schooling about to get over, it was also the time for the Farewell for our outgoing batch of 2012. This was an event very much awaited among us. The event to many of us symbolized that we had grown up and now can step out into the world into the career choices each one had decided. Finally, the invitation cards for the big day were distributed, a nicely designed and beautifully written invitation. But something caught my eye while reading, it was the mentioned dress code. All of us had to wear full formal dress for the event. Some were excited seeing this, some confused like me and others sulking that they had to wear a blazer in such hot weather.

When I told my father about the dress code and asked him to purchase one for me, he straight away took me to Peter England store. This was also my first shopping experience of selecting this style of clothes. From so many options I finally chose one and while leaving my father said the reason he brought me here was that since years he has been purchasing clothes for himself from Peter England and he knew that even I will find one for myself and Peter England wouldn’t disappoint me.

One of the biggest challenges I have faced has been my journey to secure an admission in premiere college Like Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. I had been a school topper throughout my schooling till 10thclass. Post that I decided to pursue engineering and joined an IIT coaching class like lakhs of other aspirants. But something was different in teaching style than what was being taught in school. The difference was that during school there were teachers and parents to constantly guide you but now it was one’s own responsibility with little help from others. To some teenagers this feels like a freedom, that they can do everything now as per their wishes. I was also one of those teenagers who felt like this and later realized my mistake that I didn’t took seriously the importance of studying hard for my career at the time. Studying a bit and enjoying more were how my two years went by and when the results of entrance examinations came, obviously I didn’t fare well. My dream to join a top prestigious college got shattered. A couple of days after my emotions calmed down, I decided at that point that from now on everything I do during my engineering college and the post-graduation I will take it seriously. And thus, started a new phase in my life. After a period of two years of exhaustive preparation for MBA entrances and a 9 month of work experience I finally get to fulfill my dream of studying in a premiere institute and look forward to having an experience that could be life changing. I can say with great pride that I’m studying at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.
