It is not always that you are keenly studying in your class and a light, gentle breeze sweeps through the class and you can see clouds gently flowing across. It is not any other college but Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune.
It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that it is one of the most beautiful and breathtaking campus in India. Located near the buzzing and lively city of Pune,Symbiosis Institute of Business Management is the perfect example of 'Education-in-harmony-with-nature'. The B-school is safely perched on a beautiful hilltop full of flora and fauna and boasts of everything a MBA student can hope for! It has a sprawling academic campus boasting state of the art 'Central Library' equipped with lot of e-resources. SIBM Pune has a unique ampi-theatre where lot of functions takes place. Our college is always graced by the stellar Alumni and Corporate honchos. Such events are taken place in 'Auditorium' and 'Convention Centre'.
What makes my campus unique is the culture that has been inculcated upon every student of the SIBM family. SIBM boasts of student-driven culture where the nine councils and a Student president helps the college administration in running the college. These councils are as follows: Alumni Team, Aspirant Relations Team, Co-Curricular Team, Corporate Interface Team, Information Systems and Media Relations Team(iSMART), Placement Advisory Team(PAT), Research and Scholastic Development Team(RSDT), Social Entrepreneurship and Consulting Cell(SECC) and Sports Management Team(SMT). As it is not hard to guess that these councils each one consisting of around 8-9 students' team are the core of the Symbiosis students' body which actively engages the interior and exterior SIBM world in various activities. Apart from these student bodies we have Special Interest Groups(SIGs) which caters to the various specializations that the college offers. These are as follows:
Caf-Fin for Finance, Innovation Club for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Mark-O-Polo for the marketing, OpCellence for the operations and Vitarka for the Human Resources and finally, Quod-the Quizzing and Debating Society.
These groups helps in fostering and spreading the knowledge about the various specialisations. My campus is unique is because it is always full of energy where students are always busy doing something productive and worthwhile. From first year itself which is called MBA-1 in our lingo, students are motivated to choose a specialisation from either Marketing, Human Resources, Finance or Operations and expected to deep dive in it. This helps in student attaining a razor-sharp focus on the particular subject he is interested in exploring. And I consider myself a very lucky guy to be in this great, esteemed institution of knowledge.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
I would like to work for 'Aditya Birla Capital' company. It is because it is one of India's largest financial services conglomerates touching the lives of crores of Indians positively. It boasts of the products and services which caters to the need of every Indian. Our country is going through one of the 'growth phase'. We have the demographic dividend, time and opportunity to arrive on the world stage and I feel the Adity Birla Capital can fill the void created by the ineffectiveness of the public sector banks in India. I would definitely like to be part of such a dynamic organisation which helps yourself in attaining satisfaction about your career.
