My life at SIBM Pune has started on 3rd June 2018 and it has been a wonderful experience so far. The moment I entered the campus I felt light music easing through the winds and cool breeze soothing my heart. And I was all set to make a mark in this college and maintain the legacy of brand SIBM.
It is 6 am in the morning and I am sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee and my laptop. Looking at the sunrise amongst the clouds I am totally drooling on this place - It is so soothing to my eyes. This place has embraced with both of its arms and has made me feel like home in such a short span of time. I had arrived on this campus with my family and after crossing the huge gates of Symbiosis International University; it felt like heaven. I realised why people say that this is the place where dreams are perceived and achieved. The scintillating sculpture of Goddess Saraswati in the very front of the college main gate declared to the world that this institution will bless those with knowledge and wisdom who truly believes in making the world a better place to live in: वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम- it means the world is a family. Education brings affinity and kills differences in the society.
A walk from Old girls’ hostel to the college is a mini trekking with slopes steeping here and there and clouds sneaking in and out!! Oh yes, and who can forget the mesmerising waterfall here!! The great sports ground with a backdrop of the skies is a sight worth appreciating. And every day I return to my hostel room from college and open the windows to satisfy my eyes with the amazing view outside. It really amazes me to discover that this is the panorama to which I will wake up every morning.
The campus life at SIBM Pune is filled with energy and excitement. The murmur of the birds and the babble of the students never allow anyone to drown in idleness. I am meeting new people every day and exploring new places. There is excellent sports facility-Badminton, Table Tennis, Squash, Snooker, Basket Ball, Volleyball, Cricket and so on. One of the most exciting places is the swimming pool - with water beneath you, mountains in front of you and skies above you, who would mind taking a dive?
Speaking about the auditorium, sitting on the same seats as that of current business stalwarts always invokes a sense of pride within us. This college is also known for its world-class infrastructure- The central library, Convention Hall, Bloomberg Lab, comfortable classrooms, greenly corridors and a stylish canteen. Films like Bodyguard have been shot here. Evenings and nights are the most happening times of this campus. Young guys and girls moving all over the campus, playing songs and dancing to trendy tunes eases the worries of the entire day and lightens the atmosphere. The night canteen also gives a kick to our taste buds. And now since the rains have already set in- The miracle has already happened. With clouds hovering all over us and darkening the azure, a chaotic rhythm of winds fills up the spirit with wilderness. This is an experience that can hardly be penned down!! We are the lucky ones who could become a part of the SIBM family and rains at Lavale do make us feel all the more special. The cool breeze and the smell of the wet grounds just after the rains do give us a feeling of satisfaction. The amphitheatre looks more alluring at this time.
I have already made so many good friends here that I hardly feel homesick. We have become so close that it doesn’t feel like an unknown place anymore. We study together, discuss on important topics, complete daily tasks and then hang out either in this awesome campus or somewhere in the city. With excitement and pride when I post pictures of this campus I get questions like- “Is this a hill resort?”, “Are you on a posh vacation?” to which I reply- “No, this place is Symbiosis campus, my home”.
I have embarked on this journey with high hopes and aspirations and every day I tell myself proudly “For the next two years I will be in this campus but this campus will be there in me for the rest of my life!”
Which ABG company will I like to work and why?
I would like to work with Pantaloons and here are some of my reasons:-
1. I relate to the tagline of pantaloons-“In love with fashion”. I strongly believe that a person’s dressing style is one of the most important factors to leave a mark in the society.
2. Being a marketing student I will have a great scope to present my management skills here as the fashion industry is forever evolving.
3. Pantaloons is India's largest big box fashion retailer. Being a satisfied customer I would like to know more about this company and contribute in order to become a part of the family.
