Participate In Summer Saga Season 8 & Win Upto Rs. 15,000!
Hi, Tell us about how you got selected for this internship? Take us through the moment you realized you had got the internship.
I got the opportunity to work with EarlySalary from my campus placement cell. The selection process consists of 3 rounds of tests and interviews including
an aptitude test, technical interview, and HR interview.
On joining the company as an intern, how has your onboarding experience been like?
The onboarding process was very smooth and hassle-free. The HR and my Department head made sure that all the interns feel comfortable while onboarding as it was all online due to the pandemic and work-from-home.
How has your interaction with the team members and colleagues been like? How will you make sure to leave the best impression on your supervisors by the end of the internship?
The HR head and Department head were among the ones who took us through the company working in the first meet. Later on, each intern was provided with one mentor. My mentor has vast experience in the risk department, the department in which I am interning. He is a CA and financial risk expert. I feel fortunate enough to work with him as he makes me learn new things every day and at the same time challenges enough to take on interesting aspects of risk Analytics.
Tell us in brief, about the project you are currently working on and how is this project going to help the company?
EarlySalary is into the fintech industry and provides short-term loans. My internship project is all about reducing and balancing the risk of additional approvals. The title of my project is Rejection Inferencing. EarlySalary receives 100 requests for loans and accepts 60 of those requests on any given day and rejects the remaining 40. My job is to analyze those 40 rejections and based on the statistical and logical analysis, suggests the company, taking the additional risk to increase the net positive revenue.
Are You The Best Summer Intern Of The Class Of 2022? Share Your Own Internship Experience.
Give us an overview of how you prepared for your summer placement season.
From the beginning, I was sure on building my career in Finance. To make sure that I am well aware of the market and the domain I regularly use to study on the internet, in newspapers, in journals, research papers, and the curriculum books. As all the wise say, learn learn learn and then aim to earn. For preparing for the summer placements I also undertook a project which helped me to apply the theoretical learnings in reality.
Based on your internship experience till now, what are some necessary skill sets one must be prepared with before starting an internship?
According to me soft skills like presentation skills, documenting skills, and organizing skills are key to your internship. Every day some or the other senior or manager teaches me new things and concepts but if I don't document those learnings in an organized way then it is of no use. Presentation skills are necessary because if we are not able to summarise our work in a presentable format that is easy to understand at a glance, then it is hardly of any use.
What are some new skills that you have developed while working in the company?
I have learned a new software called knime. This software helps me in data analysis and building logic workflows. I have also learned the art of reading customers from a financial point of view
