With Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli all set to welcome the new batch of 2020-2022, we take a walk down memory lane when IIM Tiruchirappalli had organised TEDx event at their home campus – TEDxIIMTrichy on Saturday, 11Th January 2020 with the theme “Colouring beyond the lines”.
The management institute hosted a plethora of speakers from different fields to share their experiences and motivate the audience through their inspiring talks. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, the distinguished speakers welcomed for the event were Aishwarya Rajesh, Actress, Sidd Ahmed, Entrepreneur, Sibichen K Mathew, Civil Servant, Sai Satish, Ethical Hacker, Mohan Shanmugam, Geologist, J Chandrasekaran, Social Entrepreneur.
Owing to the fact that TEDx was organised this time at the home campus, the event saw positive participation from students and teachers alike. The event began with a soulful musical performance by the students of IIM Trichy followed by an introduction to the theme of the day.
In line with the theme, Sidd Ahmed, President and CEO VDart highlighted the importance of spreading happiness to all stratas of the society. While actress, Aishwarya Rajesh inspired the audience with her story of relentless perseverance and tenacity to overcome her hurdles. Sibichen Mathew, a civil servant raised the issue of paying taxes properly to contribute to the economy while ethicall hacker, Sai Satish talked about revolutionising the education system through the use of technology and ethical hacking. Mohan Shanmugam, a geologist talked about the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle and how his innovative techniques are bringing about a positive change in the field of organic farming. J Chandrasekaran stressed upon the fact that innovation is the changemaker that makes blurry lines clearer and talked about the world's first arsenic filtration system created by him.
The event was a grand success due to the unabating efforts of the students of TEDx committee under the able guidance of Professor Nithyananda. The committee managed to put up a great show by providing a platform to these speakers to share their path-breaking ideologies with the students.
Towards the end, the speakers received mementos thanking them for their contribution to the society and taking time out from their busy schedule to enlighten the students. The attendees were elated to receive exclusive TEDxIIMTrichy merchandise and goodies.
IIM Trichy has time and again proved that it wishes to provide extensive exposure to all its students and conducting a TEDx event is a right step in that direction.
