BIG IN YOUR LIFE
-Aditya Birla Group
This tagline has justified the role Aditya Birla Group has played in my life, with every phase of my life being touched by the different products of Aditya Birla group. The first ever product that I used was the idea Sim. With the unique ‘Get an Idea Sirji’ commercial coupled with its affordable and easy plans, it has been on top of my list ever since. It was not later that I realized that the cement used in the process of building our house was also a product of Aditya Birla group. The floors, the clothings, the chemicals, the metal, there is no part that the Aditya Birla group has left untouched. At present moment, the most impactful company is the Birla sun life insurance Co. Ltd. which, with its remarkable schemes and plans, is helping people to a great extent. I am proud that even my family has become an extended part of this great organization. I am even aware of the coverage of the business activities of Aditya Birla group as one of my family members works in the USA branch of the company. The faith and trust that people hold in the company is seen in the usage of Birla products on daily basis. Even the quality of products like garments, PVC flooring coverings, cement, jute goods, is simply unquestionable. I am glad to be born in a time where a trustworthy company like Aditya Birla Group is ruling over all the major segments of business world.

These four words sum up CAT’17 for me. Having secured 98.92 Percentile, the race for the best Colleges was never ending, and I eventually happened to be the rabbit that fell asleep during the Journey. With results, reality started to sink in, and with it, the hopes of attending a Tier-1 B-School also started to sink. CAT topper of the University, Head of two Societies, Good Academics, Good in Sports, I thought I had it all. What else? What more? What new? What went wrong? What next? Have I chosen the wrong field? All these questions started shredding my mind into bits and pieces. Self-confidence was at an all-time low resulting in friendships and relationships falling apart. A social recluse-that was what I had turned myself into. A month passed by and days were passed pondering over what could have been. One fine gloomy day, I received a text from my former trainer, asking to meet up and discuss issues with him. I went ahead with the idea and that was the day I never looked back again. Instilled with some confidence and help provided by my mentor, I began the journey of my internal assessment. Individualism and nervousness proved out to be my Achilles’ heel. To overcome that, I started training people in Reasoning, starting with the ‘Mecca of Schools’ Doon School, Dehradun. Training some of the finest future brains of the country and interacting with them proved to be a booster. Life began getting back to normal and the social exclusiveness bubble also began to burst. The failures of the past began to seem like stepping stones necessary to reach the ultimate destination. CAT’18 was better than it’s predecessor with the Percentile reaching 99.43. The personality and Interview rounds were also better, with me converting almost 90% of my calls.
As I write this from MDI Gurgaon, I would like to reiterate the words of Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman, Aditya Birla Group which got me going through the darkest of phases:
‘Failure is not fatal. Failure is inevitable. If you do not fail, it perhaps means that you’re not taking enough risks.’
