My first thought when I came here was that I realized the brilliance and beauty of contradictions.
The way the weather here can be your greatest teacher.
How something can be both refreshing and challenging, intoxicating yet soothing, wild yet serene, intensely primal yet patient and ephemeral yet predictable within the shifts and rhythms.
It keeps me continuously wanting to know more, feel more, see more and to become more.
I will ask you a question. Have u heard of a campus amidst the clouds? A place where 400 odd youngsters, among the top talented students of India, compete day in and day out with a strong will to lay a sound foundation to their careers. You will never feel lazy here. The deadlines, the submissions, the projects and the competitions are one thing, what stands SIBM, Pune out is the weather, the ambience, the scenic beauty.
After a treacherous day of tightly packed lectures, case discussions and group studies, a few minutes stop at Aqua point will definitely put your energy level back to full. The distant sky, the subtly moving clouds, tiny buildings near the horizon and the soothing spread of greenery all around just clears your mind and rejuvenates not only your body but also your soul. Brainstorming sessions upgrades to another level when carried out at the amphitheatre in the wide view of the whole city. You will never fall short of ideas at this place. A game of football under these skies is an experience unfathomable enough to articulate.
With the Sun diving into the horizons acts as a prelude to what more the weather has here in store for you. The dark skies, the dimly shining stars, the sparkling city lights and the fresh fragrance from the flora around makes up for the best you could ask from the atmosphere.
It would be wrong to assume that SIBM, Pune houses a bunch of 98 percentilers. Because that is not what defines the students here. What defines the institute is the versatility and diversity of the students, the institute nurtures. You will find all traits of professions here. A physicist, a chemist, a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher, an air hostess, a philosopher are just a few, to begin with. The students here showcase a wide range of talents and not just better academics. dancers, wrestlers, footballers, swimmers, bead workers, skaters, painters, guitarists, ukulele players and many, many more. And the best thing is we are already a family here, helping each other, expressing what we know, learning what others express and growing together gaining strength as one to face the world when time comes.

Having studied subjects like Nonferrous Metallurgy while pursuing Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at MSU, Baroda has provided me with a sound knowledge about aluminium and copper extraction from ores, and the theoretical processes of transforming them into usable products. I also had the opportunity to experience the practical working of the copper smelter and the production of concast copper rods during a visit at Birla Copper at Dahej(Bharuch) in Gujarat. Complementing all this with the experiential learning of handling the production of Stainless Steel tubes and pipes manufacturing plant and the Operations management knowledge I will obtain at Sibm, I aspire to work for Hindalco.
