Part A:  Why Aditya Birla is big in my life:

Right from my birth itself, knowing or unknowingly I have been using ABGs products. Aditya Birla's conglomerate has been an integral part of our life right from top quality apparel brands, financial services, the largest telecom network in India to the largest cement manufacturing brand, and what not!

Building a house was my father's dream some 15 years back, and my father was sure not to compromise on the quality simply because in his opinion houses are built once in a lifetime and has a long term investment. He is a Civil engineer, so he knew the value of the quality of cement in constructing anything. At that time, without any hesitation, Ultratech Cement was the most preferred choice. As a result, still now very little has been spent on the maintenance of the house.

In the apparel sector, Aditya Birla has always been the forerunner. Whether it's Louis Phillip, Allen Solly, Van Heusen or Peter England, the quality and brands have spoken for itself. I still remember buying my first Allen Solly shirt, and it has been the luckiest shirt for me till date. Whatever occasion I have worn it the occasion or the event has been a great success for me from getting first placed from my university to cracking IIM interview and converting IIM Ranchi. I use that shirt only for big occasions after that somehow I feel its give me that extra confidence and self-belief.

Aditya Birlas telecom network Idea was the one who brought revolution in the way we used to surf the internet. The Idea 3G spectrum changed the whole vision of India towards the world wide web. It made it much easy to stream videos without any buffering and gave data usage at affordable plans. ‘What an Idea, sir ji!’ advertising still reverberate in my ears.

Part B: Never give up against all the odds.

When I look back on my undergrad days, I feel the risk that I took paid off well at last. During the end of my prefinal year of undergrad, I was going through a lot of dilemmas and depressions. With my undergrad scores coming down due to various co-curricular activities as well as I had placement related work as well as I was the central placement coordinator of my university didn’t help the course either. Due to my lower undergrad scores, I feared whether I could be able to it for my campus placements in my desired profiles. Along with that, I wanted to prepare for the CAT as well as deep inside, I had a desire to study MBA from IIMs.

Amidst all the obstacles I didn’t lose hope, I knew if I would stick around and managed time properly, I would end up somewhere. Initially, the days were tough in my coaching classes as well. I scored too less percentile in the AIMCATS . Along with my undergrad course I carried on to prepare slowly for CAT as well as for my forthcoming placement season.

To my destiny, I got the first offer on campus with my desired analyst profile and with quite a high- end package. This boosted my confidence in the world of good. I started to prepare for the CAT more dedicatedly for the next 3-4 months. This systematic approach soon fetched results, and I scored a more than decent percentile to get through IIM Ranchi. Everything that happens in life happens for a purpose there may be many hardships on the way but if one stick around and aim towards his target, then one can achieve close to what his/her target was.
