The VALR section had lengthy RCs with many close options in VA and RCs. Surprisingly, there was a picture-based inference question. There were also CR, grammar, fill-ups, and 1 poem-based RC. The poem-based question was slightly confusing with its options. Other RCs were moderate but lengthy. Out of the 26 questions, attempting around 15-17 questions with high accuracy would be good for achieving 95+ percentile.
XAT 2025 DM Analysis
The decision-making section was lengthy, unlike last year's. There were no cases with short paragraphs, and individual questions also had paragraphs. The topics were familiar, with nothing based on the conclusion. Hospital management, Ticket and concert marketing, Local shops and delivery apps, and workplace environment were the topics on which these sets were based. What made the questions a little typical were the close answer calls in many of the questions.
XAT 2025 QADI Analysis
The quants section comprised moderate questions. The DI sets were not calculation intensive. Quants would be easier for the candidates who could allot 75-80 minutes but this was difficult because of the rest of the paper’s lengthy nature. Also, good geometry-related knowledge was required for the quants and one of the DI sets. There were a total of 12 questions in Data Interpretation.
Conclusion
The VALR and DM sections were tougher than in XAT 2024. QADI can be a notch down, but the lengthy overall paper compensated for some of it. We expect the Score vs. Percentile to remain almost similar to last year's, but we will get much clarity as the XAT 2025 response sheet is released.
