Part A : Connecting friends and family

A Jute manufacturing company who over time grew to become one of the largest conglomerates of the world with products ranging from metals, types of cement, textiles, agriculture business. In its growth from strength to strength, it does touch many lives, including mine.

It was the era when there was no WhatsApp or Facebook and mobile used to occupy the prime position in every teenager’s wishlist. I was gifted a mobile phone when I was in 9th standard. It was a basic mobile and the only add on it had was the radio. Though it did not have any boasting function but it did act as the only point of contact between me and my friends and the only thing which made that possible is the Idea sim card. My friends and I used to exchange gossips and class doubts over the messages. I used to recharge the message pack on my number and it effectively reduces the cost incurred. After completing school, in college also I used to watch online videos using Idea internet.

Also during my UPSC ESE preparation in Delhi, idea the internet helped me to watch online lectures of prominent professors and NPTEL videos. Apart from helping in education I also used to have long video chats with my friends.

Part B: Our ability to handle life's challenges is a measure of our strength of character

I graduated in 2016 with a GATE score of 716 in Mechanical Engineering, which fetch an admission from IIT Guwahati. But the dreamy instinct led me to Delhi to prepare for UPSC ESE. I studied with full focus, but could not clear the preliminary stage. Nevertheless, I prepared again for next year, cleared preliminary staged but got flanked in mains stage. During, this I also appeared in other exams like BARC, ISRO but could not make to the offer stage. These failures totally withered me and I finally decided to put an end to it. I got into a state of being incomplete, finding myself at the deepest trench each passing moment. Then I decided to appear for CAT 2017 and got 85.57 percentile, it does fetch me admission in Delhi School of Management, Delhi. But after getting there I noticed that opportunities are quite limited and the academic is also not up to the mark. Then one day I decided that I would not go down so easily. I made myself believe that with hard work I can bring my life back on track. I started my preparations for CAT 2018 with determination and focus and was able to score good percentile. I realized that failures are undesirable but not recovering is worst. Life is neither easy nor predictable. We should be humble in life and never give up against setbacks.
