Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life?
In day-to-day life, every one of us come across any of the product or service offered by the Aditya Birla group. From branded apparel to cement and various other products that become a part of life for many people. Founded 162 years back, by Mr. Seth Shiv Narayan Birla, the group sets an example for many of us. Sustaining through various difficult situations and grabbing the right opportunities in the market at the right time to become a leader as a conglomerate inspires many young minds who aspires to be a great leader in the future. I have personally experienced the use of many products and services. The idea was the first network that I bought when I joined under graduation. Owning a mobile phone is a big deal for me. I used to chat with my friends for hours as Idea to Idea calling was free. The idea was the only sim to offer such things that students can afford. It was an unforgettable memory that even bring tears. The brand, Van Heusen, one of the first in my life. When I went to buy a formal dress for myself along with my father, he was the one who suggested to me to go with it. Even now, I prefer Van Heusen over others for the reason that it was my father’s suggestion. When I was in the NSS volunteer team of our school, we used to do social service in a village that we adopted. We got support from one of our sponsors who donated free cement for the construction of a public building in the village. That was my first encounter with the UltraTech brand. All these events may look small, but they have given me a lot of memories to cherish.
How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?
The biggest challenge that I faced was the fear of facing difficult situations and responsibilities. In my school days, I never used to participate in any of the events or competitions due to fear of failing in it. It was my friend who gave me the courage to contest in the class representative election during my class 12. I was not sure how much I can fulfill my responsibilities. But that was the moment that gave me a chance to change myself. From the one who never participated in any to the one who was handling the problems among the students. Then after, I participated in different activities and held many positions of responsibilities during my college days. I was guard commander for the troop in NCC during republic day celebration in our college. I was not sure where the shift happened but I realized that I was a different person altogether. I was the placement representative for the mechanical department during my under graduation course. The courage to speak in front of a big crowd and the ability to control them came along with it. I experienced a change in myself that was helping me to achieve bigger challenges. I got placed in an automotive company and was handling many important responsibilities that are very sensitive. Working in a corporate office, I went through a learning phase that gave me more confidence to take-up risky responsibilities and completing them on time. That was the time when I faced the toughest challenges that are so critical like production line stoppage issues. Experiencing all these challenges, I decided to do my MBA to move a step further and looking for an exciting opportunity with much more riskier job roles.
